I enjoy all types of music. The best kind of music is the music that moves your heart and makes you tap your feet.

Movies: I have come into the habit of renting many movies the last two years to stay up with the current culture. I like watching Dramas, Action, and Comedy.

Reading: I read, or at least start, 30-70 books a year. Most of my reading is reading for my classes at Asbury. I try to read the Bible as much as I can. I mainly read books about Christianity, but have started subscribing to different Financial Magaizines, as well as TIME, to try to have a more well rounded repertoire.

TV: I like watching shows such as “Survivor Man”, COPS, the evening News, and many of the new reality TV shows about families such as 18 and Counting.

Free Time: My wife Nicola and I are both full time Graduate and Post Graduate Students, that also work part time, so free time is a thing to look forward to one day. But we do find some from time to time. Probably our biggest hobby is going out to eat! (So come join us!) I make time to watch a movie or two a week, and I like to get outside and slow down by watching the clouds by day and the stars by night. You also can find me at Cocoa Beach once or twice a month. When I moved to Florida in 2006, I vowed to learn how to surf…. And I am getting better!

Education: Bachelor of Music Education (BME), Troy State University; Troy, AL, 1977. Master of Science (MS), Early Childhood/Elementary Education, Nova Southeastern University; Fort Lauderdale, FL, 1995

Favorite Type of Music: I appreciate, if not enjoy, all types of music. I love instrumental music, Jim Brickman and George Winston are two of my favorite pianists. I like the lyrical depth of artists such as David Wilcox, Sarah McLaughlin, Chris Rice, and James Taylor. My favorite listening is probably classical. It helps me think. I especially like Yo-Yo Ma, cellist. Some of my favorite pieces are Barber's "Adagio for Strings", Pachelbel's "Canon in D", and Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto." I take great refuge in praise and worship music.

Favorite Movie: I love movies that touch my heart, but also make me laugh. I have great childhood memories of "Mary Poppins". I knew the lyrics to every song and sang them to my stuffed animals. While teaching, I championed such movies as "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "The Man Without a Face". More recently, I had a great time watching "O Brother, Where Art Thou" over and over, laughing and singing along! I have, also, been intrigued by movies such as "Adaptation" and "A Beautiful Mind."

How do you spend your free time: Playing the cello, reading, cooking, writing music.
