School Activities

Celebrate Learning

At the end of each month, we design for our students a whole-school event to reinforce concepts and skills that have been focused on in our thematic instruction for the month. These events are exciting for our students. The classes have the opportunity to interact with each other and share their creative ideas.

Fridays With Friends

The PreK-4/5 and Primary School classes participate in "Fridays with Friends" a very special time of visitation with our elderly and shut-in church members. During these short visits, the children sing a few songs, present their new friend with a special gift made by the class, and share lots of smiles and hugs. These visits have proven to be a wonderful real-life learning experience for our students and an invaluable ministry to our church family and the elderly in our community.

Chapel

The older children have the opportunity, once each week, to meet with the Pastor for a special Chapel time. At Chapel, they sing Bible songs and learn Bible stories. They, also, have the opportunity to share personal stories and to pray together. The children enjoy coming together in the church sanctuary for this intimate time of learning and growing in God's love.

Parenting Classes

Parenting classes are offered as a ministry and are free of charge. These classes are lead by Pastor Aaron and Mrs. Massey, who are able to address both spiritual and developmental issues, regarding effective parenting. These informal classes are held periodically on Fridays in the church parlor. Complimentary childcare is offered for each class (6:30-7:30p.m.) and parents are welcome to pre-register for "Parents' Night Out" afterwards for a nominal cost of $5.00 per child, 7:30-11:30 p.m..

Extra Curricular Activities

As a convenience to parents, our school offers Dance, Gymnastics and Piano lessons on campus once a week. These classes offer children the opportunity to learn a new skill and are also a great creative outlet. Classes are available at an additional charge to those students who are interested. Class prices range from $20-$35 dollars a month for a 30-minute weekly lesson.

SISTERS

SISTERS is made up of moms and teachers from the CDC and Primary School. We meet every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Choir Room to sing, pray, laugh, and cry together as we share life's journey. We are also involved in various ministries, giving back because we find ourselves to be so richly blessed. You don't have to be a trained singer to be a part of SISTERS. You just have to love to sing and join together in the awesome bond of sisterhood to enjoy our very special times together. Complimentary childcare is available. Please join us!
